From Adelaide – Take the Southeastern freeway up through the Adelaide Hills and then to Bordertown, and along “The Inland Way 8” through Kaniva, Nhill, Dimboola and to Horsham. Drive through Horsham toward Ballarat on the Western Highway until you reach Stawell, Turn right from the Western Highway and into Halls Gap.
From Melbourne – To reach the Grampians from Melbourne, follow the Western Freeway through Ballarat and Ararat which will start your trip along ‘The Inland Way 8’ a network of driving tours that connect much of the Grampians Region. At Stawell, turn left just after the visitor information centre and head for Halls Gap, the holiday village in the heart of the ranges.
From Stawell – As you cross the bridge into Halls Gap on the Stawell/Halls Gap Road, drive through the village toward Dunkeld past the shops (about 2kms) and turn right at Pinnacle Road (opposite Brambuk the National Park Cultural Centre). Pinnacle Retreat is on the corner of Pinnacle and Scott Roads.
If you’re coming by train from the city, a bus service will carry you the short distance from Stawell to Halls Gap.
Alternate – For a truly memorable (although longer) trip, follow the Great Southern Touring Route along the spectacular Great Ocean Road. The journey takes in Lorne, Apollo Bay, Otway National Park all the attractions of the Shipwreck Coast near Port Campbell, including the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. Turn off just before Port Fairy and follow the road through Penshurst and beautiful Dunkeld until Halls Gap.
